New York

The two weeks we spent on Amelia Island camping at the beach soon flew. Actually we had a good time, the temperature rarely fell below 20 ° C during the day, we read lots of books and even went for a run each day. Sometimes the wind blew some sand into the tent, but there was no other inconvenience. Every second day we went to the shop two kilometers from the beach to shop and to go online.

When the time came, we picked up our tent and packed it in the car of our Canadian neighbor, Adam who dropped us off at the bus station. The bus ride was a bit uncomfortable, but we could handle it. We traveled 30 hours with four stops. Arriving in New York, we dragged ourselves to the accommodation, which was a Couchsurfing apartment. It was perfect for us, we took a hot shower and set off to the city.

The accommodation is approx. a 5 minute walk from the center of Manhattan, so we practically barely took the metro. We’ve covered everything in Manhattan where it’s worth, eg. Central Park, 5th Avenue, Times Square, Empire State Building, Flat Iron Building, Broadway and many more. We went to Brooklyn by subway, walked a little, and then walked over the Brooklyn Bridge. We discovered Wall Street, the Highline, the World Trade Center Memorial and of course we attacked a couple of roofs!

We arrived at last to Taco Bell and then boarded the train to the airport. We spent our last night in the States on an airport bench. Hopefully this will be the last time for a while, when people look at us like we were homeless, not as if they are particularly disturbing, but of course the warmth of home is missing … Please welcome the last album from overseas!
